TILL THE END OF TIME
-
Where do I begin to tell the story
of how great a love can be
Wishing not to wake up if it’s in a dream
Promising if it’s so, I’ll not stop to scream.
-
Childhood memories kept flashing on my mind
Reminiscing the happy moments we were together
My mind video started to unwind
Seeing us the happiest duo ever.
-
To the hilltop or rendezvous be
Playing, running, hiding from each other
When found, holding hands so merrily
Lying on the green grass, looking at the blue sky and wishing to be somewhere there.
-
Indeed, the sky so vast was our witness
When we wished the day would never end
Confirmed by its blueness
that such will not come to any bend.
-
but…
Time was not ours yet
to remain in such solitary innocence
for it has come for us to separate
to meet and see each other, we know not whence.
-
Ah! Life is a mystery!
At first, it’s like a bird, sowing not, toiling not,
just flying as free as it can be!
However…
Instead of soaring up,
a twinkling of an eye
it went down below with its broken wings, no longer can flap
for they were hurt by a great blow.
-
Yes, it was the time
when we were the happiest
but time broke it just like a song without a rhyme
then became the loneliest.
-
Countless seconds, minutes, hours, days, weeks turned to years have passed
and now time came to present into full view
no longer a slave of the past
but a handsome,strong-willed and principled one is before you.
-
Who then can separate us from our earnest and sincere vow?
Fame? Wealth? Envy? Insecurity?
Nothing! No one can break it, rather try to bow
and respect our endless love through eternity.

Ooops. No, this poem is not mine.
Such a refreshing feeling to know that my sweet 72-year-old Grandmom still writes love poems fast enough to finish it within a split-hour which also particularly reminded me that really, I have not one romantic bone in my body. haha I mean, how can she write such without the corniest tone and the dumbest cliche’ words and share them with sincere giddiness blanketing her smiles?Maybe because of experience, yes? And me, how can I not stare dumbfounded and adore her?
Cheers to my grandmom for a love poem! I asked this from her and told her that I’ll be posting it here. :)
Maybe you would also want to read my not-so-romantic poetry? hehe
